DESCRIPTION:LAP WARS. 1st July 2023\n\n LAP WARS: Where the best track & street cars battle it out for the fastest lap of the SMSP GP circuit. Who will win the trophies\, prizes & bragging rights? We’ll find out @ LAP WARS #1 on 01/07/2023! NOTE: This is not a beginner or first timers event. NO drifting will be allowed. Competitors will be divided into 4 groups – 1) TRACK CAR: Advanced 2) TRACK CAR: Intermediate 3) STREET CAR: Advanced 4) STREET CAR: Intermediate Or a combination of these to make 3 or 4 groups pending the number of drivers/ cars entered. There will be trophies awarded for the fastest lap from – – Rear wheel drive track car – Front wheel drive track car – 4 wheel & or all wheel drive track car – Rear wheel drive street car – Front wheel drive street car – 4 wheel & or all wheel drive street car Prize packs will also be provided for the overall fastest. Details to be announced. \n\n\n\n Event Times. Start 630pm – 1030pm Finish \n\n Event Format – a) Cars will be divided into groups based on previous lap times recorded at this or another circuit in the same vehicle. Times from another circuit may be used if they have no times recorded for this circuit. b)Cars will be released singularly from the north or south pit lane. The maximum number of cars will be 16 in any group c)Each run will comprise a minimum time to allow all competitors to complete at least 5 laps\, with the time of the fastest single lap being used for results. The minimum time for each run will be 13 minutes. d) Proposed minimum number of runs on the Night will be 4 Entries –a) Maximum number of Driver entries for the Event 56. b) Maximum number of Drivers per entry is 1. c) Electronic Timing Transponder hire fee will be included with the entry fee. If using a compatible personal unit already installed in the car\, the ID of the unit must be advised on the entry form and the driver sign in with the chief timekeeper to confirm the unit ID. d) For a vehicle to be eligible to enter it must be based on a production vehicle. EV vehicles are not eligible for this event. If you do have an EV and would like to enter please email us and we will look at a class for EVs for future events. e) Modifications to vehicles are free as long as the vehicle meets or passes scrutiny requirements. f) Entries will be accepted in order of receipt\, accompanied by the appropriate entry fee. g) Entries from drivers between 16 and 18 years of age must be countersigned/consented by a parent or legal guardian on the entry form. h) The Organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason. An email confirming acceptance of entry will be sent (only for entries received more than 7 days before the event). i) If a competitor advises the event secretary that he/she is unable to attend the event\, the following procedure regarding a refund applies More than 7 days prior to the event – full entry fee less an administration fee of $50. j) Any vehicle entered and scrutineered will for the purpose of the entry fee be deemed to have competed. k) Entry cost will be $360. l) Opening date\, Entries will open on the 26th of May e) Closing date – 27th June 2023 or when entry spots are full. f) Entries will be accepted in order of receipt\, accompanied by the appropriate entry fee. g) Bank Transfers being the primary method of payment. h) This is a Racers event. DESCRIPTION:GP Circuit Drift.\nGardner GP Circuit\n6:30pm to 10:30pm \nThis is NOT a beginner or first timer’s event.\nThis is for experienced entrants only.\nThis event is a Drift practice night.\nLocation\, SMSP’s Gardner GP Circuit Layout (3.93km)\nNo timing or competition. \nCars are allowed to Drift\, while in the drift zones only.\nThe requirements are:\n* Your car meets or exceeds the scrutiny requirements.\n* You do not damage the track or track edges.\n* If you can not stay on track or look out of control you will be removed.\n* If you dirt drop while turning tires or come off the track and turn tires on the grass you will be removed.\n* You do not drive slowly\, It is not a race but it is not a cruise.\n* You need to be moving and not slowing down in the corners to do power skids on the straights.\n* Cars will be released from pit lane in singles\, pairs or groups pending what the entrants would like to do.\nWith a gap between\, pending the previously released cars or car.\n* NO Drift areas being the main straight\, turn 1 and turn 6.\n* NO stopping on track. The pit lane is in use. \nDriver entries are full for this event.\nNo more driver entries will be accepted. \nSpectators $20 at the gate.\nKids under 12 are free with a paying adult.

DESCRIPTION:GP circuit Drift or Drive. \nWednesday 17th August 6.30pm to 10.30pm. \nDrift or Drive/ Grip or Drift call it what you like.\nIt is a mix of a drift day crossed with a drive day.\nNo timing or competition.\nSome cars will drive parts and drift parts.\nSome cars just drift and some cars will just drive. \nThere is no requirement that you must just drift or just drive.\nThe requirements are that you can stay on track.\nYou do not drive slowly\, It is not a race but it is not a cruise.\nYou need to be moving and not slowing down in the corners to do power skids on the straights. \nThis is NOT a beginner or first timers event.\nThis is for experienced drifters and drivers.\nIf you can not stay on the track you will be removed. \nCars will be released from pit lane in singles\, pairs or groups pending what the entrants would like to do. With a gap between\, pending the previously released cars or car.\nCars can drive or drift the GP circuit. No drift areas being the main straight and turn 1.\nWe will be running open pit lane no stopping on track.\nThe maximum entrant capacity is 60 \nEntry Costs\nGP circuit 360 pre paid before thursday 4th August 410 if paying after 4th August 2022. \nNote we only have access to 36 garages. The first 36 people booked and paid will get the front and back of a garage. SUMMARY:North Drift /Drive
DESCRIPTION:North Circuit 1st December 10am to 2pm\nDrift or Drive.\nBest described as a mix of a drift day crossed with a drive day.\nNo timing or competition\nSome cars will drive parts and drift parts.\nSome cars just drift and some cars that will just drive.\nThere is no requirement that you must just drift or just drive.\nThe requirements are that you can stay on track.\nYou do not drive slowly\, It is not a race but it is not a cruise.\nYou need to be moving and not slowing down in the corners to do power skids on the straights.\nThis is NOT a beginner or fist timers event.\nThis is for experienced drifters and drivers.\nIf you can not stay on the track you will be removed.\nCars will be released from pit lane in singles\, pairs or groups pending what the entrants would like to do. With a gap between\, pending the previously released cars or car.\nCars can drive or drift the north circuit. No drift areas being the main straight and turn 1.\nWe will be running open pit lane no stopping on track.\nMaximum entrant capacity is 40\nCost is 300 with a garage\nCars could be registered or unregistered as long as they comply with the requirements below.\n\nScrutiny info\nGeneral\n.No oil\, fuel or water leaks.\n.All wheel nuts must be fitted and tightened.\n.No loose objects or sharp edges in the driver’s compartment. Cars must be presented for scrutineering clear of ALL loose items with drivers apparel and helmet.\n.Cars must have all exterior body panels on and bolted securely. Exceptions are made for front and/or rear bars. If running no front or rear bars there must be no sharp edges.\n.Doors must be fitted with side intrusion bars unmodified unless an approved safety cage with side intrusion bars is installed.\n.The Front windscreen must not have cracks that obscure the driver’s vision.\n.Oil catch cans must be able to contain hot oil safely. Plastic drink bottles or tin cans are not an option.\n.Oil catch cans must be 2 liters or greater. Registered vehicles do not require a catch can if fitted with the standard engine breather system.\n.The firewall must be completely sealed (no holes) from the engine bay to the driver’s compartment.\n.The cooling system must have an overflow bottle or tank minimum of 1 liter.\n.No moving engine parts will protrude from the bonnet.\n.Seats must be mounted securely with all correct bolts fitted. High tensile M8 nuts\, bolts minimum.\n.Seats must be in good condition. With minimal to no movement in the adjustment mechanisms.\n.No tears\, fraying or damage to the seat belt or harness webbing.\n.If running harness type seat belts they must be in date and have clearly marked standards and expiry dates.\n.The harness shoulder straps shall be directed to the rear and installed in such a way that they do not make an angle greater than 40° to the horizontal from the occupant’s shoulder\n.Where a safety harness is affixed to an un-reinforced section of the body shell\, each attachment point shall be reinforced by a steel plate not less than 75mm x 50mm x 3mm.\n.All four brakes must be operational from the foot brake pedal.\n.Front and rear hazard lights must be operational.\n.Brake lights must be operational.\n.If headlights are glass the lights must have an adhesive cover of a color other than red to prevent broken glass\, clear protective film is recommended.\n.Battery must be firmly clamped and in a sealed compartment or box if fitted within the passenger compartment or in a compartment with a fuel system (cable ties and ratchet straps are not acceptable mounting for the battery).\n.Vehicles must display a blue triangle of sides 150mm indicating the location of the battery.\n\nExhaust\n.Exhaust system must end outside the perimeter of the bodywork. No exhausts are to finish underneath the vehicle.\n.Exhausts must not protrude more than 100mm past the perimeter of the vehicle.\n.No exhausts to exit upwards through the bonnet waste gate/screamer pipes may protrude through the bonnet by a maximum of 30mm.Cars running external wastegates need to ensure the wastegates exist away from any flammable materials\n.No exhausts to exit the vehicle on an upswept angle of more than 15 degrees. If directed sideways\, the exhaust outlet/s must be located rearward of the midpoint of the wheelbase and shall not project more than 50mm beyond the body work.\n\nFuel System\n.All fuel system components must be secured and be completely sealed from the passenger compartment. This includes fuel lines.\n.Aftermarket fuel tanks must have a roll over valve and pigtail hose which does not vent into the passenger compartment.\n.Nitrous oxide or LPG systems are permitted. The tanks or bottle MUST be securely fastened to prevent movement during an accident. The system MUST be free from leaks. The system MUST also be part of the car’s main electrical system and shut off when the car is turned off or stalled.\n.If using LPG/Nitrous Oxide an appropriate label MUST be placed on the front and rear guards of the car so that if there is an incident\, track officials are aware of the nitrous or lpg system.\n.Methanol is not allowed.\n\nFire extinguishers\n.Are not required however are recommended. If you do have an extinguisher see below.\n.Must be securely attached with nuts and bolts. NO teck screws or cable ties.\n.Must meet AS 1841 or AS1841.2.\n.Must be held in place by a metal latch/bracket.\n.Plastic brackets are NOT allowed.\n.Must be in a low position and MUST be within reach of the driver while seated.\n\nRoll/Safety Cage\n.You do not need a roll cage to enter for the north circuit unless you have a convertible/ open roof vehicle or would like to take passengers and the car is not registered.\n.If you do fit in to the above then please follow this link for cage and cage padding requirements.Drawing J18 and J19 in cams manual link are the minimum.\nhttps://motorsport.org.au/…/general…/schedule-j.pdf…\n\nTow Points.\n.Vehicles must be fitted with visible and accessible towing points or hooks (minimum inside diameter of 40mm) fitted forward of the front axle and rearward of the rear axle and capable of towing the vehicle on a sealed surface with its wheels locked. Where a tow point is obscured\, each tow point shall be marked with the word “TOW” of a contrasting colour to the vehicle’s body marking the location of each tow point.\n\nHelmets / Clothing\nMust conform with the below:\n.Australian Standard: AS1698\n.USA standard: Snell SA95\, M9 SA95\, SA2000\n.ECE 22 (with 03\, 04 or 05 amendments)\n.For open vehicles\, a closed face helmet with a visor down is compulsory.\n.Drivers and passengers must wear non flammable long sleeve clothing that covers neck to wrist to ankles.\n.Fully enclosed footwear made from non flammable materials must be worn.\n\nTyres\nWe would prefer that drivers run road tires not semi slicks on the drive wheels to minimise rubber down on the circuit however there is no tire restriction.
